Will Cellphone Replace Digital Camera?
The mobile phone technology is getting more advance and complicated, with many features and functionality added on to the cell phones. Most of the latest generation mobile phones comes with high-resolution megapixel built-in cameras, web browsing ability and email functions and it looks like there is more to comes.
It is a standard features now that all cell phone, be it Nokia, Motorola or Sony Ericsson Cell Phones, all of them comes with built-in camera. With the resolution getting higher and shooting of pictures getting sharper, one has to ask the question: is it possible that it will replace the digital camera?
There are several advantages of a cell phones over a digital camera. One of them is that you can take a quicker and easier snapshots. Now, imagine when you saw somethings interesting while you are on the road and want to take a quick shot. It is much more easier to use a cellphone camera rather than your digital camera; think of the steps involved: you need to take out the digital camera from your bag, remove the casing, switch it on before you can use it. That will probably take you a few seconds and when you are ready, the scene or subject might be different.
We also know that sometimes, just the thought of taking out the digital camera and take a shot might simply dissuade us as we felt that it is just too troublesome - but, with a camera phone, you probably will snap it away immediately.
Also, we are so used to carry our mobile phone with us no matter where we go, it is already part of our lifestyle and habits. But, there is a high chance that you may just forget to carry your digital camera with you.
Of course, it is still a long way to go for the camera phone to take over what the digital camera can do. For a start, there is totally no competition in the memory storage, you just can’t store too many pictures in a cell phones. It will be interesting to see where the camera phones technology will be in the next few years and will it be able to improve to the stage where people opts for it rather than a digital camera.
Will Sony Ericsson Phone or the other manufacturer gives us something to cheer about?
